Pepper

Pepper foi formada em Kailua-Kona, na Ilha Grande do Havaí em 1997. Uma banda que sempre encantou desde o príncipio pela energia que colocavam em cima do palco misturando o rock as suas essências na terra natal, composta de letras doces e ao mesmo tempo uma vibração, uma sonzera, uma pegada total. A banda sempre manteve esse ritmo até que o momento de gravarem o seu primeiro cd, embarcando para San Diego em 1999 e que no ano seguinte era lançado então o álbum Give 'N It.

No ano seguinte já que recebem o patrocínio da marca de snow, skate e surf Volcom.

Já venderam mais de meio milhão de discos de forma independente e acabaram fundando sua própria gravadora, a LAW Records - através dos quais hoje dentro da mesma estão grandes nomes do reggae/rock: Iration, Passafire e o Supervillians.

O sucesso foi tanto que já se apresentaram nos festivais Lollapolooza, Mile High Festival, West Beach Music Festival assim como muitos outros ao lado dos grandes nomes da cena mundial nesse gênero.

Essa banda realmente é uma grande referência para o surf rock, apesar dos últimos cd's terem um trabalho bem mais pop e fugindo mais do lance mais "roots" em relação ao trabalhos anteriores com certeza é uma grande banda.

New School Dropouts

New School Dropouts é a banda formada em 2003 na Costa Leste da Flórida e tinha a mesma pretensão das diversas bandas postadas aqui. Quebrar a barreira dos ritmos mesclando diversos estilo musicais baseando-se bastante no rocksteady e dancehall, fortes influências segundo os próprios de 311, Bob Marley e fãs assumidos de Sublime.

Em 2005 eles já tinham uma aparição enorme nas rádios locais e participaram de festivais importantes na localidade na época. Tocaram ao lado de peças importantes no cenário musical como Damian Marley, Toots and the Maytals, UB40, Inner Circle e outros.

Em janeiro de 2006 então é lançado o álbum "Bring Back Shaka" que vai estar aqui disponível pra download.

O termo havaiano "shaka" é usado pelos susfistas pra dizer "tudo tranquilo!".

Formada pelos integrantes Michael Lipsky (vocal), Andy Middleton (vocal e guitarra), Jack Hoffpauir (trombone /scratch nas pic ups), Tom Dabkowski (baixo), Dave Settgast (bateria).

As últimas informações que encontrei foi sobre a morte de Jack em 2007 e desde então não foi exposto mais nenhum material da banda.

Curtam aí o que a princípio seria o único trabalho dos caras. Dalê!

Clear Conscience

Clear Conscience é nada mais nada menos do que uma das minhas bandas preferidas nesse gênero. Jeff e seu vocal autêntico e bastante inspirado no de Brad Nowell me faz curtir muito essa sonzera.

Aquela tradicional mescla reggae, ragga, dub, rock e hip-hop com muito feeling e uma jornada já consagrada desde 2003 no seu primeiro álbum "High Tide". Desde então já tiveram oportunidades de tocar juntos com grandes nomes do reggae como Tippa Irie, Half Pint, Edley Shine (Born Jamericans) , Wild Life, Orange Grove, Dub Passenjah, etc...

Banda originada em Big Island, Oakland - Califórnia. Formada pelos integrantes: Jeff Conscience (vocal e guitarra), Robert L. (bateria e backing vocal), Peter (baixo) e Dave (sax/ teclado).
E será lançado ainda esse ano o novo álbum "Lust at First Sight" em março.

Iration

 

Iration, a banda havaiana dessa vez então terá seus trabalhos disponíveis pra download. Muitos acreditam que os caras são dos EUA. Atualmente sim, residem em Santa Bárbara - Califórnia. Mas todos os integrantes são originalmente do Havaí.

Eles começaram tocando em jam sessions em Isla Vista no Havaí, e desde então cresceram mais e mais, ao ponto de no seu segundo trabalho - o CD "Sample This" em outubro de 2008 a faixa "Falling" foi a mais vendida do gênero reggae para todo o mundo por diversos sites na internet.

A banda é formada por Micah Pueschel (vocal e guitarra), Adam Taylor (baixo), Cayson Peterson (teclado), Joseph Dickens(bateria), Kai Rediske (percussão/ backing vocal) e Joseph King (controles dub - nos shows ao vivo).
E no site de relacionamentos Orkut criei uma comunidade dessa banda que hoje obtem quase 300 participantes postando comentários, downloads e curiosidades sobre a banda.
Mais uma vez uma overdose dessa vez da Iration em seus EP's e CD's lançados até então.
